Updates for August

Whew! August 2022 is turning out to be one of the busiest months I’ve had in a long time.

First of all, the centerpiece of the month is the upcoming release of Rage of Lions Book 3: Lions of the Reach which happens Friday August 26. I finished writing this book about 12 or so months ago, so I’m really looking forward to seeing it in print. Pre-sales have been strong so far, which is really encouraging. We’ll be doing another launch podcast, with the release of the book, with free copies likely, so if you enjoy listening to Josh and I talk about the books, be sure to tune in and feed us your questions and comments. I love the podcast, so come share it with us on Facebook.

Other great news on the publishing front is that Blade of Truth and I have just signed a contract for Book 4: Eagles of the Grand Kingdom. So book four will definitely be going into print, ideally in November this year. For a guy who’s never had a publisher publish his books before, four in one year is a bit of a rush.

That’s not all the writing news I have though. Book 5 is underway and evolving (as many of my books do). No guarantees, but we should be talking about a first quarter release next year. Also, I just finished a novelette I’m calling Lions Before the Storm. It’s a small collection of prequel stories that take place in the years leading up to Prentice Ash. It won’t be for sale, but people receive a free ebook copy when they sign up for the newsletter. That’s available now.

For those enraptured by the sound of my melodious voice (don’t laugh, it could happen), Ben Kreis interviewed me for his YouTube channel last month. You can find it HERE. It was a lot of fun to do and the conversation ranges all over the place, but especially discussing my love of classic fantasy and what I think is missing from so much of the modern genre.

I also have an upcoming interview with author Parker J Cole, on her podcast, in late August. When I have a firm date and link for that, I’ll share it here as well. Parker is an historical romance author and a lovely lady that I’ve had the chance to get to know through some Christian writer circles online. When she read Prentice Ash, she live-messaged me all the way through. For hours I kept getting little updates as chapters were finished or story beats impressed her. It was great fun and, on her end, went into the wee small hours of the morning. If any fans want to do that with me, I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to stay up the whole way, but I’ll give it a go.

So that’s August – busy, exciting and fun. I hope everyone is enjoying their year (or at least surviving it). Until next time, God bless you and keep you.
